Claudia is a young vampire who was turned by Lestat after being rescued by Louis from a house fire.
Being turned at age 14, she never physically aged beyond that, even though her mind was considerably more mature. Frustrated by her limitations, and Lestat’s rules, she leaves to find more vampires which does not go well and she returns home.
Unhappy with her life with Lestat, Claudia plots to kill him. She and Louis leave to find the Old World Vampires, but Claudia is again unhappy with the coven in Paris. She eventually files her soulmate in Madeline, has Louis turn her, and plans to leave Paris, only to end up on trial for the attempted murder of Lestat.
Claudia is sentenced to death by sunlight, and vows to come back and destroy her killers.
