Biography

Josephine Schmidt was born in Potsdam, German Democratic Republic. She is an actress and producer, known for Anna (2008), Idyllik and Innenkind (2014).

After two supporting roles, which she played as a child, including Penelope in Mama is impossible, she stood from November 2002 to November 2008 as Paula Rapf in the soap opera Good Times, bad times in front of the camera. Other television appearances followed in 2008, including in the Sat.1 production RIS – Die Sprache der Toten as Angelika Jensen and in the ZDF production SOKO Leipzig as Christine Veit.

In 2005 she played Felice Schachwiz at the theater in the world premiere of Rolf Hochhuth’s family band. In 2006 she was on stage at the Hamburg theater “Weisser Rausch” for the Minimal Music project.

Since 2004, Josephine Schmidt has also worked as a voice actress and has lent her voice to various film and TV characters such as Larissa Lebkuchen in the animated film Emily Erdbeer – Berry Christmas, Sandi Crocker in the children’s series Here is Ian or Natalia in the Mexican telenovela Ruby. Schmidt also set the lead role in several anime series, including Milano in Murder Princess, Saki Morimi in Eden of the East and Priscilla in the Dark Fantasy series Claymore. Since 2005 she speaks various commercials at the children’s channel Nickelodeon. In 2011 she dubbed Shiina in theDrama -Anime Angel Beats!

In 2009, Schmidt joined the telenovela Anna and Liebe and took over the role of the title character from 3 March to 3 November 2010. She is in a relationship with her seriesmate from Anna and the love Bo Hansen.
