Karin Collison

Biography

Karin Collison is an award-winning actress and screenwriter (including a 2021 Academy Nicholl Fellowship) known, from the age of 8, for her extensive work on stage and screen, in the US, UK, Europe, and Malaysia. She left showbiz for a few years, and explored other careers including journalism and — after getting an MSW — worked as a psychotherapist in private practice. While she was the Artistic Director of Santa Barbara’s Speaking of Stories (during which time the US Embassy commissioned her to mount Readers Theater in Kuala Lumpur as a post-911 outreach) she returned to the performing arts as an actress, director and writer.
