Katy Karrenbauer

Biography

Katy Karrenbauer was born in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany as Katy Nina Karrenbauer. She is an actress, known for Hinter Gittern – Der Frauenknast (1997), Cloud Atlas (2012) and Verbotene Liebe (1995).

In addition to her work as an actress and musician Karrenbauer also attracted attention as a writer. After writing a book of poems, What’s going on, remains – about one who set out to seek finding, she published 36 autobiographical short stories in Life is not a fish fart ten years later. In her third book Freedom I take myself,Karrenbauer tells in 15 self-deprecating life stories, spiced with black humor, about success and failure, about fighting through and about what ultimately counts for them.
