Biography

Leela Savasta was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. She is also a dual citizen with the United States.

Savasta stars in the Showcase original drama series Cra$h & Burn (2009). Additionally, she played recurring roles in NBC’s award winning drama Battlestar Galactica (2004) and in Chris Haddock crime drama series Intelligence (2005). Leela has earned Guest Starring credits for her work on “CSI Miami”, Supernatural (2005), Eureka (2006) and Stargate: Atlantis. Playing alongside Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine, Leela shines in the romantic comedy “This Means War”, directed by McG and scheduled for 2011 theatrical release.

After Leela’s acting debut on the hit series Smallville (2001), she booked her first leading role on the Showtime mini-series Masters of Horror (2005). Soon after, she was offered another leading role in the film A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story (2006), directed by Oscar Nominee, Agnieszka Holland of Europa Europa (1990) and starring Academy Award winning actress Mercedes Ruehl of The Fisher King (1991) and Gia (1998). Leela appears in the political pilot Orpheus (2006), starring Mena Suvari, and as a part of an ensemble cast, in the 2006 feature film remake of Black Christmas (2006) directed by Glen Morgan.
