Biography

Lin Yin is an Australian-born actress of Chinese descent and speaks both Mandarin Chinese and English. Lin spent her early years in Melbourne and abroad, living in both Belgium and California, graduating high school in the top 2.6% of the State of Victoria. She grew up playing piano, table tennis, swimming and trained in Kung Fu and weapons at age 16 at the Shi Cha Hai Sports School in Beijing. She holds a Bachelor degree in Media Communications and Psychology from the University of Melbourne.

In 2018 Lin appeared in major feature film The Whistleblower, the biggest Chinese-Australian co production to ever be shot in Australia. Soon after Lin was cast as Freya in the critically acclaimed Australian TV series Flunk. She has also played the lead in short films Bowl of Tears and I Am Awake, Always.

Lin has a Diploma in Musical Theatre and has also trained at the the Actor’s Temple in the Meisner Technique and at The Actors Centre in London.
