Biography

Melanie Thompson is an actress and director, known for Charlie (2017), Dimension 404 (2017) and Two Weeks Notice (2020).

Melanie grew up in Silver Spring, MD. She’s a big sister. She’s kicked soccer balls into goals from half-field. She could probably out-nerd your little brother on Star Wars trivia and is still waiting for her Hogwarts letter.

Melanie started writing at the tender age of five – it may have even been sooner than that. Her stories began as scribbled stick figures charting daring adventures; as she grew older, they transformed into thoughtful reflections on the struggles and beauty of life. As she experienced the power of film – and how deeply she was moved by honest, strong performances – she knew she wanted to bring her stories and ideas to life.

That passion led her to Los Angeles, where is confidently moving forward in her acting and writing career.

Melanie is a graduate of Emerson College’s highly selective BFA Acting program and has studied in Los Angeles at Ivana Chubbuck Studios at the Master level, The Groundlings School, Annie Grindlay Studios and Playhouse West. She is represented theatrically and commercially by Avant Artists and managed by Kjar & Associates.
