Biography

Nicola Correia-Damude is an award winning actor and singer. She is best known for her work in several television series including Shadowhunters, Burden of Truth and The Strain.

A graduate of Studio 58 and the Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre Training at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Nicola has also performed on stages across North America including the Shaw Festival of Canada, the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Canadian Stage, and Tarragon Theatre. Her theatre credits range from celebrated classics like Coriolanus, Much Ado About Nothing (Stratford Festival), Serious Money, The Women and Albertine in Five Times (Shaw Festival), to world premieres of brand new Canadian works like The Madonna Painter (Factory Theatre), Within the Glass (Tarragon Theatre) and Botticelli in the Fire (Canadian Stage) and Marine Life (Tarragon Theatre).

Nicola is also a Motion Capture performer for video games and has appeared in Assassin’s Creed:Unity, Far Cry 4 and The Division. She is also a singer/song-writer in her spare time. As a female actor of mixed heritage she is passionate about seeing more cultural diversity on our screens and stages, about expanding roles for women and about improving conditions for mothers and families in the film and television industry.

She is bisexual and has been married to actor Carlos Gonzalez-Vio since 2013.
