Biography

Born in Regensburg, Bavaria, West Germany, Sepideh Moafi is a Brooklyn-based artist. She starred in the HBO series The Deuce and has starred in various shows on Showtime, Amazon, USA, ABC, NBC, & CBS. She has played lead roles in the award-winning festival films Quest and Best Man in the Dark. Sepideh was recently praised amongst NY theater critics for her work as Scheherazade/Dahna in the off-Broadway world-premiere of One Thousand Nights and One Day.

She has played leads at major theaters and opera companies across the country and has been part of the development of new works at The Public Theater, Signature Theater, Atlantic Theater Co., LABrynth, and New Dramatists. Theater highlights include Rosalind in As You Like It,  Juliet in Romeo & Juliet, Hecuba in the world-premiere of After Troy by Mihai Maniutiu, Serafina in The Rose Tattoo, and the one-woman show 9 Parts of Desire.

Opera highlights include the title-role in Handel’s Agrippina, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, and the world-premieres of America Tropical & A River of Women. She has performed in concerts and recitals around the world, including The Kennedy Center and Davis Symphony Hall. Sepideh holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and an M.F.A. in Acting from UC Irvine.
