Shalane Connors

Biography

Shalane grew up on a parrot farm in Ramornie NSW. Born to farmers Neville & Noddy Connors, she was raised alongside hundreds of birds, horses, donkeys, rottweilers, snakes, & siblings.

She spent most of her childhood horse-riding, dancing & studying music, but didn’t discover acting until the age of 17. She then went on to study acting at the University of Wollongong, graduating with a bachelor of Performing Arts.

After graduating she fell suddenly into the music world after winning a songwriting comp at Tamworth Country Music Festival with her sister. They formed a folk duo called ‘Siskin River’ for which she wrote & toured original music for five years, as a singer and guitarist. The band released two EP’s and an Album, and played at major Australian music festivals including Falls Fest, Woodford, Queenscliff, Fairbridge, Festival of The Sun, and Bluesfest, to name a few.

After the death of their father ‘Siskin River’ disbanded, & Shalane moved to Sydney in 2016 to continue her acting. She has since been working as an actor in film, TV, commercials, & with Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House, with plans to release solo work in 2021.
