Amanda Wagner is the chief of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. As a young officer, she discovered the boy Will Trent in a dumpster near his mother’s dead body. She gave him his name and took care of him for three weeks before surrendering him to foster care. Their next meeting would not come until 19 years later, when Will was unhoused and had been arrested for stealing food. This meeting would ultimately lead to Will becoming one of the Bureau’s star detectives.
Amanda was later killed by the daughter of the serial killer who had killed Will’s mother.
