Hedi is a saleswoman in the textile department of KaDeWes. Her father is a cab driver and her younger sister Mücke has Down syndrome. The petty bourgeois family is threatened with descent. A marriage to KaDeWe accountant Rüdiger seems to be the only solution. But Hedi wants more from life: She is carefree, charmingly calculating and takes everything that offers in pleasure with her - until she falls in love with Fritzi very seriously. Should she follow this forbidden love despite all reason?
