Rebellion

Rebellion

Overview

A mini-series about the Irish uprising on Easter of 1916, the last thing we expected was a lesbian. It was a very British show, paced slowly, with not a lot of action, and that was okay. But then, in the final episode, Frances kisses May.

It felt stereotypical. Frances, who had worn pants and pretended to be a man much of the rebellion, in order to sneak around, had tasted life without restrictions.  She had tasted freedom, in the form of fighting to her beliefs, killing men, and kissing women.
