Ghazal Azarbad

Biography

Ghazal (غزال) is an award winning actor born in Mashhad, Iran and raised on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) people. She is eternally grateful to live, work, and play on these ancestral lands.

​A graduate of the UBC BFA program and the Soulpepper Academy, Ghazal has performed on stages across Canada, primarily between Tkaronto and what we call Vancouver.

​Ghazal is devoted to the art of storytelling in whatever form it takes. Whether it’s stage, camera, writing, singing, ​moving, or simply conversing, there is no greater joy for Ghazal than the art of creating and sharing stories.
