Biography
Alexandra Chun (born “Bokyun Chun”) left her birthplace Pusan, South Korea when she was 7 years old. She then spent her childhood in Baltimore, Maryland, before pursuing a degree in Western Philosophy at St. John’s College.
Soon after moving to Los Angeles to start her acting career, she was cast as a regular on the soap, Another World. Since then she has played recurring and guest starring roles in dozens of television shows including LAX, JAG, HOUSE, THE GHOST WHISPERER and most recently as the re-curring villainess on NBC’s THE EVENT. She has also played numerous roles in feature films, both in the US and in Korea including the pivotal character in the original hit horror film, SAW.
2013 saw her starring in INNOCENT BLOOD, an indie suspense thriller, playing a mother hell bent on retreiving her kidnapped son, for which she earned Acting Award at the Monaco Film Festival. The indie thriller is currently playing and headlining numerous film festivals around the world.
Her theatre credits include L.A. Women’s Shakespeare Company’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Blue Sphere Alliance’s Nagasaki Dust, SoHo Rep’s Legendary Sirens, Lodestone’s productions of Laughter, Joy, Loneliness, and Sex and Sex and Terminus Americana, Japan American Theatre’s Reds, Whites, and Blues, among others. Her most recent theatrical turn had her playing alongside other international award winning actresses in Carry the World at the Los Angeles Museum of Tolerance.
She was a co-founder and co-artistic director of Lodestone Theatre Ensemble.
In 2004, as creator, writer and director, Alexandra launched an online series of private little films that take place in HOTEL ROOMS. It was her exploration of the “viewer as voyeur” phenomenon of the internet.
