Amirah Vann

Biography

Amirah Vann is an American actress, best known for playing Ernestine, the head house slave of the Macon plantation, in the TV series Underground.

Vann is a native of Queens, New York. Her father is African American, Georgia, and her mother is Puerto Rican.

She was educated at Far Rockaway High School, and has a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University, followed by a Masters of Fine Arts degree from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Vann will be a recurring character in season 6 of Major Crimes as Special Agent Jazzma Fey.
