Biography
Cate was born in Leongartha VIC, went to primary school in Meeniyan (where Cate 1st stepped on the stage – & loved it instantly).
When Cate was 18 she left to do a BA at Melbourne Uni & to get involed in theatre life there. Cate started in Greek plays & fringe shows to learn the whole gammut of avant garde theatre. Cate met an amazing drama teacher (Mary Sitarenos) who told her to audition for Victorian College of the Arts.
Cate went overseas first. When she returned Cate auditioned for VCA & got in on her 1st attempt. After Cate graduated in 2010 (where she was awarded the Beleura Estate John Tallis Drama award in her second year.) , she did independent shows with VCA & friends. Cate auditioned for TDBM in 2011 & made her tv acting debut after winning the role of Mattie
In 2013 Cate landed the role of Jess in the 5th Season of the TV drama “Offspring”.
Cate’s film credits include : Predestination 2014, Trench 2017 plus short films The Guests, Semblance & Lavolta.
Cate had grandparents who adored the movies – so Chaplin, Keaton, Fred & Ginger were always a part of their living room. Now that Cate is currently living in Los Angeles USA, concentrating on her writing, the images of her grandparents living room are keeping her company.
