At the age of eleven, Cristina Prochaska was already doing amateur theater in São Paulo. In 1981, she was hired by TV Bandeirantes, working in several soap operas as an actress, and as a presenter and broadcaster on Band FM. In 1985, she was invited to host the Programa de Domingo, on TV Manchete, a program in which she also acted as a reporter, producer and actress.
In 1987, she went to TV Globo playing one of the main characters in Direito de Amar, by Walter Negrão. With the success of the soap opera, she picked up several jobs, staying at the station for almost 15 years, making soap operas, miniseries, humorous, voice-overs and special reports for Fantástico and Vídeo Show.
