
Biography
From bringing diverse, powerful characters to life on the screen and stage, to writing and recording brazen, vulnerable hip-hop lyrics, award-winning actor and lyricist Miriam A. Hyman has emerged in the entertainment industry as a powerful force to be reckoned with.
Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and raised in Philadelphia, Hyman is a classically trained actor, graduating from the Yale School of Drama and is a recipient of the prestigious Princess Grace Award and Leonore Annenberg Fellowship for Performing Arts.
Hyman can be seen starring on season three of Showtime’s critically acclaimed series “The Chi.” Created and Executive Produced by Emmy Award winner Lena Waithe.
On the film front, Hyman most recently held a supporting role in the Netflix/Steven Soderbergh critically acclaimed feature “The Laundromat,” which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2019. Hyman has also appeared in “The Sun is Also a Star” (MGM/Warner Bros) opposite Yara Shahidi, “Brittany Runs a Marathon” (Amazon Studios) which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, “Angel” (HBO), and Film Independent Spirit Award nominee and SXSW winner “Most Beautiful Island.”
