Biography

Tom Paul’s first claim to fame was as Vice President and co-founder of the San Diego Kings Club, the longest continuously-running drag king show on the West Coast. He also co-founded the East Bay Kings Club in 2003, where he presided as President for 5 years (the show continues to be the longest continuosly-running drag king show in Northern California). He was greatly celebrated as a drag king, and appeared on NBC’s Dog Eat Dog, performed at San Diego Pride, is a regular Guest Performer at the San Francisco Drag King Competition and performed for State Senators Christine Kehoe and Toni Atkins, among many other noteworthy stages.

Tom has also been making music for many years, both on his own and in bands. He plays country, folk, bluegrass, Balkan and Celtic, and toured the Southwest with All My Pretty Ones in while promoting their EP Handsbreadth. He currently plays with the SF-based band Velvetta, playing cheesy country music around the Bay.

A Medical Cannabis Activist, FTM/Transman and licensed Minister, Tom is also a self-described clown. You can discover his funny side at the Russian River Women’s Weekend, which he emcees every year.
