Biography

Valéria Barcellos is a multi-artist (singer, actress, DJ, performer, aspiring visual artist, and audiovisual artist). In addition to singing, she works with photography, video, and performance. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio Grande do Sul (MAC/RS).

In January 2020, she was invited to curate the cultural intervention “Enter without (us) Crashing! – Visibility
TRANS at MACRS,” an event that also featured her photography exhibition entitled “What should I NOT wear?”

She is considered one of the pioneers of the “MPBTRANS” movement, a musical movement that combines issues of respect for gender, sexuality, and Brazilian popular music (trip magazine, 2016).
