She is from the Southern United States. Initially, she disliked Homer due to hearing bad things about him from Patty, but after meeting in person, she and Homer discover that they have a lot in common and become friends, something that annoys Patty.
When Marge made Patty realize that her girlfriend was essentially the female version of her brother-in-law, Patty broke up with her. However, Marge eventually convinced Patty to give Evelyn another chance (reminding her the different between Homer and Evelyn is how they feel about Patty), and the two ultimately got back together.
