
Harper arrived to Shortland Street after being involved with U.S. criminal syndicates. She was at a one point Acting CEO of the hospital and is now the head of E.D.
She was initially thought to be straight until she found herself falling for Nicole Miller in 2014. Despite some confusion around her own sexuality, Harper embraced her feelings and embarked on a loving relationship with Nicole which ended in heart-break when Nicole dumped her for her ex. Following that, Harper returned to dated men and would assert that Nicole was the only women she'd felt that way about.
Harper began a very tumultuous with Drew McCaskill. The two eventually married and not too long after Harper gave birth to an intersex child, Billy. In 2018, Harper found herself attracted to their new nanny, Dani Fox, leading to threesome between the three of them in a storyline which cemented Harper's attraction to women.
She and Drew's relationship continued to have ups and downs between 2018 and 2023. Their family grew to include foster son, Marley, and daughter, Skye. Harper has had many signifiant storylines including her own physical health struggles, Drew's tax evasion, arguments over Billy's gender, postpartum depression after the birth of Skye, and being attacked after discovering Marley's rugby coach was a sex abuser.
In 2024, Harper began an affair with Phil Grayson but that affair ended and, eventually, Harper reconciled with Drew. Sadly, a mishap during a motorcycle road trip cause the couple to crash and Harper sustained catastrophic injuries. She died in the ED that she'd worked so hard to build.
