Chief Engineer of the U.S.S. Hiawatha. During the Klingon War, she's abandoned on an asteroid and single-handedly saves the lives of crew members for 10 months and 11 days before they're rescued.
After being rescued, she joined Discovery full time.
During the war, Jett's wife was killed.
