A lawyer, she and Hayley are dating and both hate Lucy for keeping Hayley's mother's ring (it's more complicated than just that though).
When Hayley's attempted theft fails, Kate replicates it to get the ring while making sure it cannot be pinned on Hayley. Which works, except for how the cops pin it on Kate.
