After her daughter died, her husband killed himself and she sought refuge in San Junipero. After meeting Yorkie there, she falls in love and marries her to allow Yorkie to die and be in San Junipero forever, even though she does not plan to join the woman she loves. In the end, Kelly decides to also be uploaded, and she and Yorkie live happily in the ever-after.
