“Agent, friend and lover” to deceased musician Joan Adler, who she was writing a book about. Her house is full of photos of Joan and the two of them together - the two were lovers whilst Joan was married. Laura also helped orchestrate the return of Joan's daughter Sarah (by another man) to the village. She publicly believed Michael Maybury (Joan's husband) was responsible for Joan’s death, though this is never proved.
