At the age of 16, Sofie married Adam Sands. He was very controlling of her, and he hated her going out. At some point, Sofie believed that, if she did not leave him, he would eventually kill her, so she escaped their relationship. She later met Bo Nuanji, and the two started seeing each other, but Adam found out about her affair.
After Adam beat up Bo, Sofie ended up stabbing him with her keys. Sofie turned herself in, and Bo stayed with her.
