One Mississippi

Tig Notaro took a terrible series of real life experiences (including her own battle with cancer and the death of her mother) and turned it into a semi-autobiographical traumady TV series. In the show she leaves LA to go back home to Mississippi after her mother’s death and winds up staying

This show takes on serious issues like molestation, abandonment, cancer, sexual harassment and death and adds Tig Notaro’s genius deadpan humor. The result is a brilliantly funny and powerful show that shows a slice of queer life in the Deep South.

Pray the gay to stay

All the praying for the gay to stay did not let this wonderful series last more than two seasons. Amazon Prime canceled it, in lieu of an as-of-yet-written-let-alone-produced Lord of the Rings series.

Queer Plotline Timeline

The entire series is queer, but the arc with Tig’s radio show producer, Kate (played by her real life wife Stephanie Allynne), spans the first 2 seasons.

There are 11 queer characters listed for this show; none are dead.
