An actress in the 1940s, who committed suicide and was largely believed to be a lesbian.
An AI character based on Dorothy’s performance as Clara Ryce-Lecher, met Brandy Friday during the filming of a remake of Hotel Reverie. Brandy was her co-star, starring as Dr. Alex Palmer.
Initially, the AI version followed the script, but when Brandy accidentally called “Clara” by the name Dorothy, the character began to experience echoes of the real Dorothy, as Dorothy had infused much of her real self into the role. When Brandy became trapped in the simulation with Dorothy, Dorothy attempted to find an escape after Brandy revealed that nothing in the simulation truly existed. Dorothy successfully stepped outside the simulated movie set, encountered all the data related to the real Dorothy, and learned of her tragic fate. Eventually, she returned to Brandy and they started to get closer.
In order for Brandy to leave the simulation they finish the film, which resets Clara’s memories.
After the release of the movie, Brandy received a package from the production team, which contained a new simulation of Dorothy’s audition, and a phone, which allowed Brandy to call Dorothy. The new AI-version of Dorothy does not remember Brandy but listened with interest to what Brandy had to say and seemed delighted by the call.
