Denise Sicignano

Biography

Denise Sicignano’s artistic career began at the age of 13 with singing. She joined a choir called “Bimbostar” where she had the opportunity to perform as a soloist with Walt Disney and Sanremo dei Piccoli songs in various squares in Italy.

Over time, the desire and passion to enter the world of dance was born in her, and at the age of 16, she decided to enroll at the International Training Academy “Labart Dance” (art directory Claudia Sales and Marco Auggiero) located in Naples, for the study of classical, contemporary and hip pop dance.

At the age of 18, driven by a sense of personal artistic experimentation, she decided to approach the world of cinema and theater. So she enrolled in ACT Multimedia (Academy of cinema and television) at the Cinecittà studios. She graduated and won a scholarship for the commitment given to artistic merits. From here, theatrical workshops followed with Maestro Alvaro Piccardi, Gianmarco Tognazzi and director Pino Quartullo. With the latter she had the opportunity to play as the protagonist the role of Petra in the comedy “When we were repressed” staged together with other plays of her in a show called Quartullo play’s at the Piccolo Eliseo theater in Rome.

In 2011 she was a leading actress (in the role of Filomena) in an independent project concerning the first Italian web series divided into twelve episodes, called “LSB the series”, dedicated to the latest generation of lesbian girls, directed by Geraldine Ottier and Floriana Buonomo. In a few months on the You Tube channel we have reached more than 1.000.000 views. It was translated into Spanish and English, meeting an immediate success.

In the meantime, she decided to continue studying acting and participated in an American film acting Intensive (EXSIST method study) at the “Subjective Movie Factory” association directed by director / screenwriter Stefano Arquilla with insertion in the independent film company (CCI). From this path and with the inclusion in the company she had the opportunity to work and be part, as the protagonist in the role of Fatima, of an important independent project: “Single and Single” produced by Otefilm and directed by director Stefano Arquilla.
