Djamila graduated from HKU University of the Arts Utrecht in 2010. After her studies, she attended the Visual Arts Teacher training program at Willem de Kooning Academy. She works as a theatre teacher at the Amsterdamse Jeugdtheaterschool, Buitenkunst and several high schools. She played in De andere stem and was a theatre teacher at the International Theatre Amsterdam (ITA). She played in productions such as A Raisin in the Sunby Well Made Productions and the Toneelschuur production Cruel and Tender. In addition to her work in theatre, she can be seen in various films and television series like Nieuwe Buren and Papadagen.
