Michelle Huirama

Biography

A New Zealand actress known for The Last Tattoo (1994), Foundation (2021) and Xena: Warrior Princess (1995).

Huirama was born in Wellington, New Zealand. She is of mixed parentage, Australian, Tongan and NZ Māori descent, Ngāti Tamainupō. She returned to study Theatre and Film at the Victoria University of Wellington as a mature student before working in film and television in NZ and Australia. She took a 20-year sabbatical, retraining as a chef, only returning to acting when she relocated to London, UK. She has trained predominately in Meisner in London at the Actors Temple and The Meisner Institute, London.
