Nicole Amber Maines is an American trans girl who was featured in the HBO documentary ‘The Trans List’ and is the subject of the book “Becoming Nicole” by author Amy Ellis Nutt.
She took a case, Doe v. Clenchy, to Maine’s Supreme Court in June of 2013. She won her case, which set a precedent for transgender people to be allowed to use the bathroom of their choice.
