Overview

The series focuses on the work of the Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad (UCOS) – a fictional division within London’s Metropolitan Police Service tasked with re-investigating unsolved crimes. UCOS primarily functioned with a senior police detective overseeing the work of three retired police officers who would handle each case, and who could bring in police support when needed. Each episode focuses on a different investigation, with characters often coping with problems at their age but using their wisdom to overcome hurdles in the original investigation of cold cases.

Notable Queer-Centric Episodes

Series 2, Episode 1 “A Delicate Touch” – The UCOS team have a new boss, DAC Robert Strickland, who ask them to investigate the death of a famous barrister found trussed up in his car 20 years earlier. A now retired and much respected detective famous for always getting his man didn’t get a result, so can the team succeed where he failed? Pullman digs for dirt and discovers from an old call girl that the barrister had very odd sexual penchant. Meanwhile, Gerry and Brian clash when they suspect the members of UCOS are paid based on their previous ranks within the force.
