Royal Pains

Royal Pains

Overview

Hank Lawson, ER doctor, is fired after saving a street kid instead of a hospital board member and ends up being a concierge doctor to the rich and not so rich in the Hamptons. One of his first patients is a rich young hemophiliac named Tucker Byrant whose girlfriend, Libby, happens to be a cyberchondriac (she likes to research, especially about Tucker).

Libby’s mother (Elyse) is a farmer who, in the years after her divorce, fell in love with a woman. Libby tells Hank that her mother never smiled as much before she met Anna, and is very supportive of their relationship. Anna, as it happens, has some qualms since Elyse is hiding her sickness, and worries what it means for their relationship. Luckily Hank saves the day and everyone lives happily ever after. In a later episode, he treats a teen who is, surprise, trans!
