Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Overview

Before there was Kirk there was Pike. This series picks up when Uhura is a cadet, Spock is just engaged, and Pike is not in a wheelchair. With a contemporary take on the classic, and embracing the 1960s of the original, the series matches the tone and joy of classic Star Trek.

Notable Queer-Centric Episodes

  • Season 1, Episode 5 “Spock Amok” – Nurse Chapel’s friends-with-benefits turns out to want a relationship. Ortegas reminds her that the arrangements don’t always work right, including the time with her ex girlfriend that ended in phaser fire.
  • Season 1, Episode 8 “The Elysian Kingdom” – In a strange half-fantasy experience, Ortegas and Una are clearly in a relationship. This has not yet been proven to exist in the mainstream universe.
