Alessa Esparza Wichtel is an Emerson College graduate with a BA in Acting and a Minor in Psychology. Born and raised in Peru, she participated in several short-films, tv shows, commercials and plays while growing up in Lima. Most recently she’s been acting in New York and Boston, both on camera and on stage. On stage, her favorite roles include fearless and unapologetic women such as Antigone, Beauty and most recently Maria, in Fresh Ink’s “La Llorona” (a worldpremiere). Other favorite stage work includes, “Cyclops: a satyr play” (Oberon, A.R.T’s second stage, Boston), “La vida es sueño/Life is a Dream” (Emerson Stage) and “The Laramie Project” (Lima, Peru). She enjoys writing, dancing, travelling, long hours on a film set and floating in the ocean. She is so excited to be a part of TWENTY – an honest and raw project that will inspire many laughs and much love for the characters. She is grateful to Lily and Caitlin for letting her participate in this crazy fun adventure and unique creative process. She is beyond grateful to her parents and family for the constant support & love – a cumplir sueños, vamos por más!
