Bhavna Limbachia

Biography

Bhavna Limbachia is a British television actress. She is mainly known for her roles as Alia Khan in Citizen Khan and Rana Habeeb in Coronation Street.

When Bhavna was approached by producer Kate Oates about her lesbian storyline on Coronation Street she carried out extensive research and met with young Pakistani Muslim gay women who have been afraid to come out to their families. She explained: “I thought ‘well I’m straight and how do I approach this?’ so I went off and did some research with the extra element of her having the cultural aspect of her character and dealing with it.

She is of Indian Hindu background, her mother was born in India and her father was born in Kenya.
