Overview
Morgane Alvaro is 38 years old, has 3 children from 2 ex-husbands, problems with authority, and, despite exceptional intelligence, works as a cleaning lady. One night, working at Lille police headquarters, she accidentally finds an important clue to a murder case, and, facing dismissal if the case is not solved, the superintendent assigns her to the case as consultant, much to chagrin of inspector Adam Karadec, who’s in charge of the case. Morgane dresses and acts inappropriately for her new job, often disobeys orders, has a difficult time managing her family life, and Karadec finds her nearly impossible to work with, but her flashes of brilliance are often crucial to solving the more difficult cases that the Lille detective squad deals with. In return for her work as a detective, the superintendent agrees to reopen the case of her first husband, who went missing after being arrested 15 years earlier.

Notable Queer-Centric Episodes
- Season One, Episode Five “Phyllobates terribilis” – The assistant of Fanny Mariani, a veterinarian specializing in exotic animals, finds her dead on the floor in her clinic, the printer nonstop flipping sheets with the word “murder” printed on them. Although the coroner first favours natural death, Morgane suddenly realizes that the victim has been poisoned with a Phyllobates terribilis, a small yellow frog missing from one of the animal cages.
- Season Two, Episode Four “Enfante de” – The charred body of Valentin Bélliard, 17, is found in his parents’ barn and the investigation seems to be heading towards an accident, although for Morgane it is a murder, probably related to the fact that Valentin led a double life: a secret apartment, a mysterious girlfriend and another job.
- Season Four, Episode Two “ISO 8601” – The murdered doctor has a legal case going on with a lesbian couple for whom he denied fertility treatment.
