The Autobiography of Jane Eyre

The Autobiography of Jane Eyre

Overview

The Autobiography of Jane Eyre is a scripted webseries created by Kalama+Tea Productions, based on Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre, which ran on Youtube from February 28th, 2013 to 21st June 2014. In addition to scripted episodes, the series used Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr to supplement the story through transmedia elements during this time.

Uprooting the story to modern-day Canada, the story follows Jane Eyre, a young nursing graduate, through her bi-weekly vlogs after she takes a live-in position as a tutor for the daughter of Edward Rochester, the mysterious owner of Thornfield Aluminium Exports.

The series is notable for being among the first among the literary vlogseries genre to film exteriors, make use of in-world musical montages and have a large cast of extras, as seen in the party episodes at Thornfield.
