Overview

A story about the first human mission to Mars, exploring the challenges of taking the first steps toward interplanetary colonization. It focuses not only on the astronauts, but also on their families and loved ones, as well as the ground team on Earth.

In the first episode, they suffer a Challenger-esque disaster, with the original crew being killed following an explosion. A new crew is selected, while the team struggles for funding, acceptance, and the support of a nation.
