Ramanique Ahluwalia

Biography

Ramanique Ahluwalia is a British actor, writer and filmmaker of mixed British-Indian heritage.

She trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and the Upright Citizens Brigade in LA. She is now based in London, UK.

After moving back to the UK, Ramanique starred in Ransom for CBS, plus the award-winning short film Heart’s Ease.

Most recently, Ramanique played Jess in Rebel Cheer Squad: A Get Even Series, a BBC and Netflix production.

Ramanique’s work as a writer has been featured in theatres in the UK and US. Her spoken word piece ‘Other’ formed part of the movement production Playground Lessons in New York in 2017. The show explored queer identity and asked the question, ‘Can you see yourself in my experience?’. The piece also formed a part of SOLOFest 2019 at Warwick Arts Centre.

In 2019, Ramanique directed and produced the music video for ‘Blind’ by BBC Future Sounds Artist, Amrit Kaur. The video, released in July 2020 and described by Bobby Friction as “a video and visual of immense beauty” expresses Amrit’s internal conflict: the disorientating nature of feeling simultaneously connected, yet unrooted.
