Alice and Martin are a middle class couple who move to a dream house in a small country village. Martin takes a fancy to Clodagh, the daughter of their neighbors, but Clodagh is only interested in Alice. While Clodagh is wild and confident, Alice is shy, putting her family’s needs before her own. But when her friendship with Clodagh becomes a passionate affair, she gains confidence to stand up to her family. The affair is revealed by a jealous relative, forcing the family, and the community, to come to terms with homosexuality in its midst.
