Please read this Code of Conduct (“Code”, “CoC”) carefully before using any services offered by LezWatch.TV

Your access to and use of our services is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with the Code. The Code of Conduct applies to all visitors, users and others who access or use our services.

By accessing or using the services provided by LezWatch.TV you agree to be bound by the terms set out in our Code of Conduct. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not utilize or access the service.

Purpose

The purpose of LezWatch.TV group is to allow the LGBTQ+ community to come together and discuss television, representation, and to provide a welcoming and accepting sanctuary.

This community is open to everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, color, national origin, age, disability (physical or mental), sexual orientation, gender identity, parental status, marital status, and political affiliation as well as gender expression, mental illness, socioeconomic status or background, neuro(a)typicality, or physical appearance.

In order to keep the LezWatch.TV community a safe and welcoming space, you are expected to be kind, helpful, and respectful. Assume the best of people and try to make things better, but by no means are you required to interact with everyone.

Our public services currently include:

  • Comments on LezWatch.TV – open to everyone, with and without an account
  • LezWatchTV.Slack.Com – open by application

Our Expectations

We want the LezWatch.TV community to be a positive and inclusive place for LGBTQ+ multi-fandom. All users of the LezWatch.TV services are expected to be considerate of everyone and contribute to a collaborative, positive, and healthy environment. To that end, we require all users to:

Be kind and friendly. Avoid sarcasm and be careful with jokes — tone is hard to decipher online. If a situation makes it hard to be friendly, stop participating and move on.

Be respectful and open minded. Everyone comes from a different place and identifies differently. Just because you love a specific show, or identify with certain sexual or gender orientation doesn’t mean everyone else does. A show someone else likes may not be your cup of tea, but you should remain respectful and not dis things that make other people happy.

Be inclusive. All members of the LGBTQ+ community are welcome here. There is room for all of us.

Be patient and welcoming. Learning how to participate in any new community can be hard. Offer support if you see someone struggling or otherwise in need of help. Avoid unfriendly language or subtle put-downs.

Be respectful of timezones. Remember, this is a global community. Members may be in any time zone, so don’t send multiple pings if they’ve set themself as do-not-disturb or away.

Prohibited Behavior

We expect that you will refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech. We ask everyone to review the concept of the Paradox of Tolerance. As a privately managed group, the LezWatch.TV Slack group is not beholden to “Freedom of Speech.”

Harassment includes, but is not limited to: deliberate intimidation; stalking; unwanted photography or recording; sustained or willful disruption of discussion; inappropriate messaging; use of sexual or discriminatory imagery, comments, or jokes; and unwelcome sexual attention.

Furthermore, any behavior or language which is unwelcoming—whether or not it rises to the level of harassment—is also strongly discouraged. Much exclusionary behavior takes the form of microaggressions—subtle put-downs which may be unconsciously delivered. Regardless of intent, microaggressions can have a significant negative impact on victims and have no place in our community. If you feel that you are the recipient of unwelcoming behavior, please report it so that we can learn and improve.

Other inappropriate behavior:

  • Threats
  • Hate Speech
  • Slurs (including name calling)
  • Bigotry
  • Pornography
  • Spam
  • Bullying
  • Impersonation of someone else
  • Violating someone’s privacy

Under no circumstances are you permitted to make public any private and/or personal information of anyone else, be they a member of the community or a celebrity. Everyone’s personal lives are their own business. While general speculation on the sexuality or gender representation of another person is understandable, it must be done so respectfully.

Reporting Violations

Enforcement

We take your reports seriously. Those who don’t follow the Code of Conduct in good faith may face repercussions deemed appropriate by our moderation team.

This is how moderators generally handle misconduct:

  1. Warning – For most first-time misconduct, moderators will remove offending content and send a warning.
  2. Account Suspension – For repetitive or minor misconduct, moderators will impose a temporary suspension.
  3. Account Expulsion – Moderators will expel people who display harmful and/or destructive behavior toward our community without further warning.

All actions will be taken on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of our moderators. In the event that an action is deemed to be extreme (such as catfishing, stalking, or targeted harassment), account access will be terminated immediately without grounds for appeal.

Any and all attempts to circumvent previous sanctions or decisions by the moderating team will be treated as an aggressive and intentional act.

What this means is if your account is banned and you attempt to create a second account, we will treat it as a hostile act and report your actions to the appropriate authorities. This may result in reporting your behavior to your email provider, your webhost, and blocking your access from LezWatch.TV as a whole.

Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace this Code of Conduct at any time. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
