Overview

Skeptical forensic psychologist Dr. Kristen Bouchard, Catholic seminarian David Acosta and skeptical technology contractor Ben Shakir are hired by the Catholic Church to investigate purported supernatural events. As time passes, the three find their personal lives increasingly intertwined with such events – and with individuals behind some of the incidents, such as Dr. Leland Townsend, a rival forensic psychologist who seems obsessed with Kristen and her family.

Notable Queer-Centric Episodes

  • Season 1 Episode 8, “2 Fathers” – When David recognizes one of the sigils in the Poveglia Codex from his father Leon’s artwork, he and Kristen journey to a remote art commune to investigate its meaning and how it’s related to David’s family.
  • Season 4, Episode 6 “How to Dance in Three Easy Steps” – A possibly-possessed dancer leads Kristin, David and Ben to a dance troupe with coven-like practices. Sheryl reaches her breaking point with Leland.
