Overview
The time travel show we keep meaning to watch…
When a mysterious criminal steals a secret state-of-the-art time machine, planning to use it to change past events to destroy America in the present, the only hope is a team of unexpected heroes composed of a scientist, a soldier and a history professor.
The trio must use the stolen machine’s prototype to journey back in time to critical events, being careful not to affect history themselves, while working to stay one step ahead of the villain who would unravel the timeline and understand the mystery driving his mission before it’s too late.
The show was canceled after one season but 3 days later was resurrected. Sadly, was canceled again after season two. On a cliffhanger.
NBC consented to give a 2-episode finale wrap up in lieu of a full season three, which did conclude most of the storylines.
Queer Plotline Timeline
While Denise is a main character, she’s not the main character, and as such only gets an episode a season to shine. Still, she’s there being a successful gay the whole time.
Notable Queer-Centric Episodes
- Season 1, Episode 10 “The Capture of Benedict Arnold” – Facing a situation where time might be re-written and erase her family, Denise invited Lucy over to meet the wife and kids, so if that happened, Lucy could remind Denise and they could correct history and bring them back.
- Season 2, Episode 8 “The Day Reagan was Shot” – The whole episode revolves around Rittenhouse trying to ensure Denise never joins Homeland (and thus never makes the team). This doesn’t happen, as Lucy and Jiya make sure Denise knows it’ll get better, prompting her to come out to her family.
