Overview
Veneno is a biographical series created in Spain. It covers the life and death of Spanish transgender television personality, Cristina Ortiz Rodríguez. She was also known as “La Veneno,” which is where the series takes its title. Rodríguez was a beloved figure within Spain and the LGBTQ community and her death still remains an enigma.
Cristina had a very tough and tragic life, but she brought important visibility and joy to the transgender community. She is a complicated person. Many within the LGBTQ community feel that she hurt the community’s image through her often wild and aggressive personality on television. But this series explores the private side of La Veneno and how she became the way she was.
