Overview
The series centers around sixteen-year-old lesbian Vivian McMillan (Rachael Hip-Flores). Vivian’s father is a firefighter who contracted an illness from being a 9-11 first responder. His illness prompts the two of them to move from Manhattan to the home of Vivian’s maternal aunt in Westchester, about 30 minutes away. The first episode starts with a teary goodbye between Vivian and her girlfriend Aster Gaston (Nicole Pacent) and the rest of the series deals with the ups and downs of two of them trying to maintain their relationship.

When the series came out the LGBT community loved it and it gained a lot of fans and awards. Four years after the finale they released Anyone But Me: The Lost Scenes with Vivian and Aster acting out scenes that give us glimpses into their past and future.
