Queerest Things - Nova and Mo

On this chapter of The Queerest Things I Watched Last Week, Nova and Mo have been making eyes at each other since Queen Sugar season seven started and Bibi gets her episode on Bad Sisters.

Warning: This post contains spoilers!
Queen Sugar – Season 7 Episode 2 “After a Period, Peace Blooms” [Live]

Queen Sugar’s seventh and final season started a few weeks ago and the Bordelons are still embroiled in their never-ending battle with Landrys. At the end of season six the Bordelons helped form the Black Farmers Co-op to pool resources together and in this season they have been accepted into the Southern Louisiana Federation of Co-ops led by Mo Evans.

When Mo comes to a co-op meeting Ralph Angel treats her like a rock star. Ra introduces her to his big sister and Nova and Mo proceed to eye-bang each other.

I LOVE Ralph Angel’s face here!

More of the same happens in episode two and Nova and Mo go out for a drink. Mo asks her if she has someone at home waiting for her and Nova admits she is seeing Dominic.

I know this is my queer bias talking, but OMG Nova has so much more chemistry with Mo than Dominic. He’s kind of a bowl of oatmeal. The show is turning up their chemistry for a reason! I can’t wait to see what happens.

Bad Sisters – Season 1 Episode 5 “Eye for an Eye” [Streaming]

Bad Sisters is an Irish thriller/drama based on the Flemish series Clan. It’s about five tight-knit sisters one of whom is in an abusive relationship. The abused sister’s name is Grace and her awful husband’s name is John Paul, but the other sisters call him “The Prick.” The show does a really good job of getting the audience to hate JP, he is a truly horrible human.

Bibi is the gay sister and she comes to the conclusion the only way to save Grace and their niece Blaniad is to kill The Prick. She is able to get her other siblings on board.

The show starts with JP’s funeral so we know they were successful somehow, but the subsequent episodes go back and forth in time slowly revealing how it was done after many failed attempts. Every episode focuses on a different sister and episode 5 is Bibi’s turn.

The show is good if you like morbid humor, and with 4 episodes to go, I’m curious to see what happens.

This week: Network shows are starting to come back this week like, 9-1-1, New Amsterdam and Home Economics!
